eBay is one of the marketplaces that enforces account association most strictly. Two stores opened from the same IP put each other at risk if one breaches policy. At the same time, eBay's regional sites (ebay.com, ebay.de, ebay.co.uk) show markedly different catalogs and prices.
Association Risk
Separating only the first layer is not enough; but without separating the first layer, none of the others mean anything.
An Identity per Store
In practice the correct setup is this: a separate browser profile for each store, a separate ISP proxy address and a separate payment method. Having the IP match the country the store is registered in noticeably reduces how often verification is triggered.
The last row is critical: never route research traffic through your store IPs.
Regional Site Differences
The same product is listed in a different category, with different shipping options and a different level of competition on eBay's various country sites. Before entering a new market, observing it from that market's IP has a direct effect on your pricing strategy.
Open a separate observation session for each market; mixing cookies will make you see the wrong prices.
Things to Watch Out For
- Do not use rotation while a store session is open — the session will be invalidated.
- Do not log in to two stores in the same browser; profile isolation is essential.
- Apply a gradual warm-up when moving to a new IP.
- Close off WebRTC leaks — if your real IP shows up, isolation becomes meaningless. Check it here: WebRTC Leak Test.
eBay's policies allow multiple accounts to be opened under certain conditions but prohibit reopening accounts that have been sanctioned. This article is about legitimate multi-store management.
