TikTok's recommendation algorithm is strongly regional. The same search returns different results from different countries; the trending tab changes completely. That is why, for teams doing content research and competitor analysis, a proxy is less a tool for "hiding" than an observation window.
Regional Feed Differences
You can only observe how a campaign looks in a given market from that market's IP. Our location list includes 150+ countries.
Separate Account Management from Research
The two workloads should not share the same infrastructure:
Routing research traffic through your account IP distorts the account's behavior profile and creates suspicion.
Why a Mobile IP?
Almost all TikTok users come from the mobile app. Because mobile carrier IPs sit behind CGNAT, thousands of real users share the same address — which makes it hard for the platform to block a single mobile IP. Mobile proxy sits inside this natural crowd.
The scores are representative values based on industry observation; platforms do not disclose their own criteria.
App or Browser?
TikTok's web version (tiktok.com) is easily routed through a browser proxy. The mobile app, on the other hand, uses the system proxy, and because of certificate pinning the connection is refused in some setups. The web version is both simpler and more stable for research workloads.
What You Should Not Do
- Logging into many accounts from the same IP — this creates association.
- Changing IP mid-session — the session is treated as invalid.
- Creating accounts with free, shared addresses — most likely a blocked range.
- Automation that violates platform rules — the result is not a technical countermeasure but a lost account.
This article is for the legitimate management of brand accounts and for market research. Generating fake engagement, building bot account networks and similar uses are against platform rules.
Before setup, verify your addresses with Proxy Check ; in the tool's "anonymity" column you should see Elite there.
